The Range St. Louis West is quickly becoming the go-to facility for all things related to personal protection and preparedness training. Our motto, “R U Ready” gives clear credence to our belief that training is an evolution, a progression, and a life-long pursuit. We offer a variety of classes ranging from firearms to general safety. Whether you are brand new to shooting or have trained consistently, we can help you continue your progression and skill development. Our training staff consists of active and former law enforcement, military and professional shooters.

Handgun

CCW Certification

The Concealed Carry (CCW) permit qualification course covers basic pistol safety, shooting fundamentals, defensive pistol selection, ammunition, holsters and more.

Basic Handgun Skills

This course is intended for the individual with little or no firearms experience at all. It is designed to set the groundwork for safe pistol handling. 

Women's Basic Handgun Skills

This course is taught by a female instructor for the ladies with little or no firearms experience at all. Learn safety, etiquette on the range, and everything in between.

Intermediate Pistol

This course is designed to expand on the skills learned in Basic Pistol course. In this class we will reinforce skills learned in Basic Pistol like proper grip, stance and more.

DEFENSIVE HANDGUN I

Defensive Handgun 1 is designed for the beginning level shooter that wants to expand on basic skills and fundamentals taught in our basic pistol or CCW classes.

Defensive Handgun 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Defensive Handgun 1. Students will learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a defensive situation.

DEFENSIVE HANDGUN III

Defensive Handgun 3 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Defensive Handgun 2. Students will learn new and reinforce prior class skills.

LOW LIGHT

The primary goal of this course is to teach the students how to cope with Low Light or No Light situations. In addition, we will discuss and teach several methods of using a handheld flashlight.

FOCUSED FUNDAMENTALS – HANDGUN

Our Focused Fundamental drill sessions are 1-hour sessions designed to focus on one important aspect of shooting with a handgun.

This course is designed for the new firearm owner. You will be taught basic firearm safety and how to properly breakdown, maintain, and store your firearm.

TRAINER TIME

Did you just finish your Basic class or a private lesson and need a little extra guidance for comfort? Trainer time is meant for those that would like some additional support while doing their own thing on the range.

HOLSTER DRAW CERTIFICATION

We are excited to offer this opportunity to qualified applicants so that they can further their abilities and enjoyment!

Rifle

Basic Carbine

This course is intended for the individual with little or no rifle experience. It is designed to set the groundwork for safe handling of a modern sporting rifle.

Carbine I

This course is intended for the individual with a basic understanding of the AR15 platform. It sets the groundwork for safe handling of a modern sporting rifle while loaded in the slung position.

Carbine II

Carbine 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Carbine 1. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a proper use of a carbine.

Carbine III

Carbine 3 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Carbine 2. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a proper use of a carbine.

AR ARMORER COURSE

The program will provide an in-depth understanding of all components, parts, and maintenance of the system. Each student will leave with enhanced knowledge of the AR.

Shotgun

Basic Shotgun

This course is intended for the individual who just purchased their first shotgun. It sets the groundwork for safe handling of the shotgun and will teach you all the basics.

Shotgun I

This course is intended for the individual with little or no tactical shotgun experience. It’s designed to set the groundwork for safe handling of a home defense shotgun.

Shotgun II

Shotgun 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Shotgun 1. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a defensive situation.

Shotgun III

Builds upon skills learned in Shotgun II to develop the defensive handgun and personal skills necessary to not only survive but control a lethal encounter.

FOCUSED FUNDAMENTALS – Shotgun

Our Focused Fundamental drill sessions are 1-hour sessions designed to focus on one important aspect of shooting a shotgun. 

This course is designed for the new firearm owner. You will be taught basic firearm safety and how to properly breakdown, maintain, and store your firearm.

Law Enforcement

P.O.S.T. HANDGUN QUALIFICATION

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. recognized 2-hour qualification for Continuing Education Skills: Firearms for Missouri Law Enforcement Officers.

P.O.S.T. SHOTGUN QUALIFICATION

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. recognized 2-hour qualification for Continuing Education Skills: Firearms for Missouri Law Enforcement Officers.

PRIVATE SECURITY

All officers must complete an Initial Arming class before going armed for St. Louis County Private Security Division. After completion, officers are required to qualify twice per year spread out at 6-month intervals.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are great for the beginner all the way up to the most experienced shooters. Team up with one of our experienced trainers for a one on one lesson tailored to your specific needs.

COLLEGE STUDENT SAFETY

This course is designed to teach students awareness, avoiding dangerous encounters and the use of safety products to maximize your personal safety.

BASIC COMPETITION

This class will cover stage planning, how to move through a stage, cleaning up common issues, and other entree level match shooter information.

FIREARMS FOR HOME DEFENSE

This class is intended for the individual with little or no firearms experience. It’s designed to set the groundwork for understanding different types of firearms.

FOCUSED FUNDAMENTALS

Focused Fundamentals is designed to focus on one important aspect of shooting. It takes around 1,000 repetitions before a skill is committed to automatic memory. Why not get some reps in under the guidance of an instructor?

This course is designed for the new firearm owner. You will be taught basic firearm safety and how to properly breakdown, maintain, and store your firearm.

TRAINER TIME

TRAUMA RESPONSE I

This an introduction to trauma that teaches basic gunshot wound trauma response

TRAUMA RESPONSE II

This is the next step after Trauma Response I, where we review level one care, but go in more detail with hemorrhage control. 

TRAUMA RESPONSE III

This is the next step after Trauma Response II, where we review level one and two care, but go in more detail with evacuation and more.

TEACHERS TRAUMA COURSE

This course is designed to train teachers on how to sustain the lives of students and other faculty in a hostile environment.

SILENT NIGHT

This is your chance to try out silencers as well as take advantage of special pricing on NFA related items while learning from our Subject Matter experts. Attorney Chris Cox will kick off the event at 6pm discussing the legalities of NFA items / trusts.

GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE GUNS

Enjoy a “one of a kind” evening out with your girlfriends with this firearm safety class. Learn firearm safety, get practice time in a state-of-the-art simulator room and shoot a gun in a relaxed atmosphere with The Range’s experienced staff.

GUYS N’ GUNS

Bay 1 will be ready to use with your own firearm. Bay 2 will be set up with an assortment of firearms. Bay 3 will be a move and shoot stage. After you’ve done all the gun stuff, head back upstairs and enjoy a drink, maybe a cigar, and an assortment of meats and cheeses.
