Private Security – OC/Pepper Spray Certification

This is a Missouri P.O.S.T. recognized 4-hour qualification for Continuing Education Skills: Development for Missouri Law Enforcement Officers.
Upcoming Courses

Officers are required to maintain certification with a protective device (intermediate less lethal tool) to be armed for St. Louis County Private Security. This certification course is 4 hours and approved by St. Louis County, St. Louis City, and St. Charles County Private Security.

This course may be hosted on site at The Range St. Louis West, as well as off site. For off-site scheduling, please email training@therangestl.com or call and speak with the Training Department.

  • Effects produced by Aerosol Irritant Projectors
  • Use of force policy as established by St. Louis County Board of Police Commissioners
  • Verbal commands and de-escalation techniques
  • Proper use of Aerosol Irritant Projectors
  • Subject care and decontamination
  • Proper understanding of liability issues related to the use of OC.
