The Range St. Louis West is quickly becoming the go-to facility for all things related to firearms training, instruction, and personal protection. Our motto, “R U Ready” gives clear credence to our belief that training is an evolution, a progression, and a life-long pursuit.
We offer a variety of classes ranging from firearms to general safety. Whether you are brand new to shooting or have trained consistently, we can help you continue your progression and skill development. Our training staff consists of active and former law enforcement, military and professional shooters. We are continually updating our curriculum with new classes and work with partners to sponsor non-firearms related self-defense workshops. Finally, classes on the use of non-lethal defensive solutions including MACE® (Pepper) Spray and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray will be added in the near future.

Class Cancellations:
- Classes are non-transferable.
- Cancellations within 30 days of purchase may receive a full refund (some exclusions apply).
- No refunds for cancellations within 7 days of class start date (can move to another class date with no penalty).
- Cancellations within 24 hours of class start time will forfeit tuition.
- Our classes start precisely on time. If you are late, you will not be allowed to participate in class.
If class is canceled by The Range St. Louis West due to not meeting required minimum students or weather, you will receive a credit to take the class at a later date.
Classes that are taught by outside organizations in which The Range St. Louis West is simply the host may be refunded/rescheduled within 30 days of purchase, but not within 7 days of the scheduled class. In the event the class does not meet the minimum student requirement, students will be notified and able to move to another date.

Handgun
The Concealed Carry (CCW) permit qualification course covers basic pistol safety, shooting fundamentals, defensive pistol selection, ammunition, holsters and more.
This course is geared toward the individual who is looking for training and guidance on drawing a gun from concealment.
*There is no live fire in this class
This course is intended for the individual with little or no firearms experience at all. It is designed to set the groundwork for safe pistol handling.
This course is taught by a female instructor for the ladies with little or no firearms experience at all. Learn safety, etiquette on the range, and everything in between.
This course is designed to expand on the skills learned in Basic Pistol course. In this class we will reinforce skills learned in Basic Pistol like proper grip, stance and more.
Defensive Handgun 1 is designed for the beginning level shooter that wants to expand on basic skills and fundamentals taught in our basic pistol or CCW classes.
Defensive Handgun 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Defensive Handgun 1. Students will learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a defensive situation.
Defensive Handgun 3 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Defensive Handgun 2. Students will learn new and reinforce prior class skills.
The primary goal of this course is to teach the students how to cope with Low Light or No Light situations. In addition, we will discuss and teach several methods of using a handheld flashlight.

Drills may consist of stages similar to IDPA, and other drills to help the student to become a better, more efficient shooter.
Drills may consist of fundamentals in marksmanship, efficiency, confidence building, and other drills to help the student to become a better, more efficient shooter.
Dive into the foundation of shooting. You will be using the red dot to fine tune technique to gain an abundance of skill and self-diagnose using the red dot as a tool of refinement.
Build on the foundation established in Red Dot Concepts I. We will focus more on recoil management, shot calling, distance precision and managing speed and accuracy.
As an armed professional you should want to take your shooting to the next level, and this is the course to help you do that. The concepts taught in this course will begin with a deeper dive into biomechanics of your grip and stance
Rifle
This course is intended for the individual with little or no rifle experience. It is designed to set the groundwork for safe handling of a modern sporting rifle.
This course is intended for the individual with a basic understanding of the AR15 platform. It sets the groundwork for safe handling of a modern sporting rifle while loaded in the slung position.
Carbine 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Carbine 1. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a proper use of a carbine.
Carbine 3 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Carbine 2. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a proper use of a carbine.
The program will provide an in-depth understanding of all components, parts, and maintenance of the system. Each student will leave with enhanced knowledge of the AR.
Shotgun
This course is intended for the individual who just purchased their first shotgun. It sets the groundwork for safe handling of the shotgun and will teach you all the basics.
This course is intended for the individual with little or no tactical shotgun experience. It’s designed to set the groundwork for safe handling of a home defense shotgun.
Shotgun 2 is designed to expand on skills and fundamentals taught in Shotgun 1. Learn new and reinforce prior class skills which are critical in a defensive situation.
Builds upon skills learned in Shotgun II to develop the defensive handgun and personal skills necessary to not only survive but control a lethal encounter.
Law Enforcement & SECURITY
These courses are Missouri P.O.S.T. recognized qualifications for Continuing Education Skills: Firearms for Missouri Law Enforcement Officers.
All officers must complete an Initial Arming class before going armed for St. Louis County Private Security Division. After completion, officers are required to qualify twice per year spread out at 6-month intervals.
Other
This course is designed for the new firearm owner. You will be taught basic firearm safety and how to properly breakdown, maintain, and store your firearm.
This course is designed to teach women awareness, avoiding dangerous encounters and the use of safety products to maximize your personal safety.
Private lessons are great for the beginner all the way up to the most experienced shooters. Team up with one of our experienced trainers for a one on one lesson tailored to your specific needs.
This course is designed to teach realtors about awareness, avoidance, and strategies to manage dangerous encounters while showing a home to potential clients. We will introduce several techniques to gain distance, defend, and/or escape from an attacker.
Medical
This course is designed to train teachers on how to sustain the lives of students and other faculty in a hostile environment.
Tactical Triage and Treatment is a 4-hour course designed to increase knowledge of triage and treatment while under hostile conditions.
Events
This is your chance to try out silencers as well as take advantage of special pricing on NFA related items while learning from our Subject Matter experts. Attorney Chris Cox will kick off the event at 6pm discussing the legalities of NFA items / trusts.
Enjoy a “one of a kind” evening out with your girlfriends with this firearm safety class. Learn firearm safety, get practice time in a state-of-the-art simulator room and shoot a gun in a relaxed atmosphere with The Range’s experienced staff.
