Is it legal for me to sell an inherited collection?
In nearly every case, yes, and selling to a federally licensed dealer is the most clearly documented way to do it. Every firearm we purchase is logged into our federal acquisition books, which means the legal chain of custody is clean and the compliance responsibility transfers to us. If we ever encounter an item that requires extra paperwork before it can lawfully change hands, we’ll stop, explain exactly what’s needed, and help you find the right path. We will never let a family cross a legal line by accident.
Do I pay anything for the in-home visit?
No. The visit, the on-site appraisal, and the offer are all part of the service.
What if I want to keep some of the firearms?
Completely your call, and very common. Many families sell most of a collection and keep a few meaningful pieces. Our certified appraisers can formally document the pieces you keep during the same visit, so they’re properly valued for insurance or inheritance going forward.
What about rare, antique, or unusual items?
This is where our licensing matters most. We hold the federal credentials to legally purchase items most buyers cannot touch, including NFA-regulated firearms. Anything that deserves deeper research gets a written offer within 48 hours.
How do I get paid?
Your way. Cash or store credit, your choice, on the day of the buyout. Every offer is documented in writing for the estate’s records.
What happens to the firearms afterward?
They enter our licensed inventory like any other firearm we sell: logged, inspected by our gunsmiths, and passed along responsibly to their next owner through the same background-checked process as every sale we make.
