Taking the information and skills taught in the 2 hr. Gunshot wound course, the responder will learn advanced lifesaving techniques and be taught improvised treatment skills that can be used is multiple trauma situations.
This course will teach responder how to treat casualties in hostile situations and environments as well as evacuation techniques using proven tactical concepts to ensure the safety of themselves and the injured.
Tactical Triage and Treatment will utilize a military type “Lane Training” approach that provides maximum hands-on participation in identifying threats, safety of self and the casualty, securing the treatment zone or moving to a treatment zone, advanced treatment techniques and evacuation considerations.
It is recommended that participants complete the 2 hr. Shooters Trauma course prior to taking this course as you will already have learned the basic of Hemorrhage Control, Casualty Assessment, Basic Triage and Treatment , Tourniquet Application, Wound Bandaging and Treatment for Shock. These will only be briefly reviewed in the 4 hr course.
